Your email updates stay yours.

We use your email for the updates you request, the messages needed to manage your choices, and if we introduce or expand our service. We never sell email addresses or share them for anyone else’s marketing.

01 · Information we keep

Only what the update service needs.

We keep the email address you confirm and the public property records or TCAD areas you choose to follow. We also keep the times needed to confirm and operate those requests, the version of the consent language you saw, email-delivery status such as a bounce or complaint, and limited technical records used to prevent abuse.

Following a property does not mean you own, occupy, represent, or have any other relationship to it. We do not ask for your name, phone number, owner information, or a reason for following.

02 · How we use it

Requested updates and service announcements.

We use this information to confirm your email, send a combined update when something you follow materially changes, let you manage what you follow, prevent misuse, and act on delivery failures or spam complaints.

We may also send occasional announcements if we introduce or expand a Lots in Common service.

We never sell or rent email addresses or share them for anyone else’s marketing. Update emails do not use tracking pixels or rewritten click-tracking links.

03 · Website analytics

We measure how people use the site.

We collect information about searches, site use, and email-update signups to understand our audience and improve Lots in Common.

04 · Services that help

Limited providers operate the service.

DigitalOcean hosts the subscriber service and database. Postmark receives the email address and message content needed to deliver confirmation, management, and update emails. Cloudflare routes traffic to the public site and forwards messages sent to our published email addresses. Each provider receives only the information needed for its role.

Subscriber information stays separate from the public property-data files. Email addresses remain in the subscriber database and are not stored in the analytics database.

05 · How long we keep it

Records are removed on a schedule.

  • Unconfirmed requests are removed after seven days.
  • Used or expired confirmation and management-link records are removed after 30 days.
  • Active email and follow information is kept while the requested updates remain active.
  • After all updates stop, subscriber information is removed after 30 days, except for the smallest record needed to honor a bounce, complaint, or other required suppression.
  • Detailed analytics records are removed after 90 days. Daily totals may be kept.

06 · Your choices

You can remove one update or stop everything.

Use Your updates to remove an individual property or area. Every update email also includes a way to stop all email updates without a password.

For access, deletion, correction, or privacy questions, email privacy@lotsincommon.com. We may need to verify that the request comes from the email address connected to the updates before changing or disclosing subscription information.
